From April 8–10, the aviation industry gathered at MRO Americas in Atlanta—and Spairliners was right at the heart of it. With a fresh, sustainable booth design, we marked the start of our 20th anniversary year. Our updated look reflects not just who we are today, but where we’re headed: innovative, responsible, and always customer-focused.

To kick things off, we hosted an unforgettable warm-up party with our partners from Total Aviation and Lokad—thank you to everyone who joined us!

Throughout the event, we had inspiring conversations, met new faces, and strengthened valuable relationships within the MRO community. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by—it was a pleasure exchanging ideas and exploring future opportunities together.

Last week marked a significant milestone for Spairliners as we officially opened our new warehouse in Dubai! This expansion enhances our ability to provide efficient and reliable support for A380 operators in the region, ensuring critical components are readily available where they are needed most.

The warehouse opening was celebrated during MRO Middle East 2025, where our team engaged with industry partners and explored the latest trends shaping the future of aviation maintenance. This strategic move was made possible through our strong partnership with Eightwings, whose expertise and collaboration have been instrumental in bringing this project to life.

Abdelouahab El Fettouhi joins Spairliners as new Managing Director and CEO

Component specialist for Embraer E-Jet family changes its management team

Hamburg, Germany – March 14, 2024 – Spairliners, a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, proudly announces the appointment of Abdelouahab El Fettouhi as its new Managing Director and CEO, starting from March 1, 2024. He joins Michael Vollrath, who remains Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, as both jointly head the executive board of the leading component provider in the E-Jets after sales market. Abdel brings a wealth of expertise to Spairliners, having previously held several key positions at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, which enables him to lead Spairliners into the next phase of innovation and operational excellence.
From Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to Leading Spairliners

With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, Abdel has made significant contributions across various key roles, including Customer Support Director, Middle East Sales Director, Technical Sales Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Purchasing Manager. His extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry play a pivotal role in driving Spairliners’ ongoing success.

Abdel holds a master’s degree in engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers and an advanced Master’s degree from ESSEC Business School. His academic background, coupled with hands-on experience, provides him with a unique blend of skills beneficial for navigating the complexities of the aviation service industry.

A New Chapter at Spairliners

Abdel succeeds Benoît Rollier as Managing Director and CEO. Under Abdel’s leadership, Spairliners is set to continue its legacy of delivering exceptional component services for the Embraer E-Jet family, with a renewed focus on strategic growth and customer satisfaction.

As we are approaching MRO Americas, AviTrader MRO Magazine has caught up with Spairliners’ CEO, Thies Möller, who shares insights about the broad range of component services the company supports for #Embraer aircraft and the growth potential he sees in the market. Spairliners continues Integrated Component Care services for 15 Embraer E-Jets

Hamburg – Spairliners GmbH and Kenya Airways have extended its existing Integrated Component Care contract covering full component support for 15 E-Jet aircraft of the leading African airline. With this further long-term prolongation effective by April 2018, the contracted services have been enhanced by an on-site customer representative based in Nairobi and a Line Maintenance Training for Kenya Airways’ aircraft mechanics.

Kenya Airways’ E-Jet fleet will be supplied from Spairliners’ component pool and logistic centers located in Paris and Munich. Additionally, an optimized on-site stock will be provided at Kenya Airways premises for their proprietary use.

“With this contract extension our cooperation with Spairliners will be further strengthened. The innovative approach of Spairliners enables Kenya Airways to optimize its cost position and further increase its aircraft availability. Spairliners proved to be a reliable and high-quality provider and we are pleased with the contract prolongation”, says Ron Lussier, Head of Material Management at Kenya Airways.
